Discover “AFC Learning,” the new compliance and education program by the American Fintech Council (AFC) and FORVIS.
The American Fintech Council (AFC), the trade group for ethical fintech businesses, has partnered with professional services company FORVIS to establish a new compliance and education program called “AFC Learning.”
The American Fintech Council and FORVIS intend to provide educational opportunities to strengthen fintech compliance programs, give financial institutions engaging with innovative companies tools and resources, and assist in bridging the regulatory information gap between new fintech entrants and established institutions.
AFC Learning will be organized and managed by Colin Darke, the American Fintech Council’s recently recruited senior advisor for fintech training and educational programming. Colin will now be in charge of all parts of the AFC’s educational, compliance, and training programming.
“Valuable opportunities for fintech companies”
The American Fintech Council’s chief executive officer, Phil Goldfeder, spoke about the new program’s introduction: “AFC Learning will provide valuable opportunities for fintech companies of all sizes to understand the regulatory and compliance fundamentals needed to succeed and help financial institutions recognize the value of partnering with responsible innovators.
“FORVIS is also a well-known national provider of regulatory compliance, capital advisory, and educational services to financial institutions. It will be a great help to AFC members and the entire fintech community.”
Colin Darke also spoke about the need for the new service in light of the widespread lack of knowledge about finances: “Phil and I have previously collaborated on successful programming in DC, New York, and San Francisco, fostering an engaging dialogue among regulators and industry experts, dispelling misunderstanding, promoting best practices, and staying ahead of emerging fintech hot topics. We will bring the same level of commitment and knowledge to AFC Learning, facilitating an unforgettable learning opportunity for everyone.
Finally by supporting the next wave of businesses at the nexus of financial services and technology, AFC and its members are delivering for clients. Additionally, it encourages the development of creative, open, and ethical goods that advance equity, inclusiveness, and consumer protection while simultaneously fostering competition.
