Orange and Smart Africa join forces to accelerate digital transformation, fostering innovation, creating jobs, and advancing government assessments in Africa.
Businesses around Africa are collaborating to ensure the quick adoption of digital solutions as the continent continues to digitise. Orange Middle East and Africa and the Smart Africa alliance are the most recent to do so. Together, the organisations hope to speed up government digital maturity assessments, knowledge exchanges, and advocacy in order to create sustainable jobs for Africans and expedite digital transformation.
Both organisations are prominent in digital transformation. Orange is known for its creativity and digital inclusion. Smart Africa is boosted by African Heads of State’s bold and inventive resolve to promote sustainable socioeconomic growth.
“Empowering African citizens, young people in particular, to equip them for the jobs of the future has been key to our digital transformation efforts,” Smart Africa CEO Lacina Koné said of the partnership. Working with Orange will speed our efforts.
Both institutes focus teaching women and youngsters for digital careers. Their digital skills development programmes, including the Orange Digital Centre (ODC) network in 16 African, Middle Eastern, and six European countries and the Smart Africa Digital Academy, will achieve this.
“This partnership will support innovative entrepreneurship while contributing to the shared goal of Orange Namely and Smart Africa, which is to enhance the digital skills of African youth, particularly women.” – HÉNIQUE JÉRÏME
The ODC and SADA are committed to providing a range of audiences with training in digital skills. Their joint goal is to increase entrepreneurship in the area. Both seek to increase financing options for entrepreneurs in priority industries and to speed up innovation. To just a few, these include e-commerce, e-agriculture, e-health, and e-environment.
Combining abilities
ODC offers a variety of free, publicly accessible programmes all housed in one physical location. This covers everything from investing in and accelerating firms to providing digital training for youth and entrepreneurship support.
With the goal of enabling African citizens to embrace digital change and providing them with the tools they need to innovate and compete on a global scale, SADA serves as the engine for the implementation of Smart Africa’s digital skills projects.
The two groups will collaborate through their programmes to support the development of creative digital solutions. This helps the continent develop sustainably by providing a response to regional issues.
“This partnership will contribute to the shared objective between Smart Africa and Orange, namely to develop the digital skills of African youth, especially women, while supporting innovative entrepreneurship,” stated Jérôme Hénique, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa. This is a component of our pledge to actively support the continent’s digital transformation.
