Discover Hyundai Pay, the innovative system that lets you make secure in-car payments, starting with parking services.
Hyundai Motor America has launched Hyundai Pay, a system that enables users to make payments using their vehicle’s touchscreen while utilizing credit card data that is securely stored.
US drivers now look up, reserve, and pay for parking at 6,000 places right from their car thanks to Hyundai Pay’s first parking-related service, which it provides in partnership with Parkopedia.
Hyundai Pay will thereafter be added to nine additional Hyundai automobiles after making its debut with the 2024 Hyundai Kona. Hyundai’s commitment to improving digital ownership experiences and streamlining the driving experience is supported by this effort.
The Bluelink connected car system and the touchscreen in the car are used by the Hyundai Pay system to make payments for parking and other services. Additionally, it seeks to be convenient, improve driving, and maintain payment security by tokenizing card account information.
The collaboration
Hyundai solves the difficulties many drivers encounter when looking for parking by integrating with Parkopedia’s Payment Platform. According to the 2023 Global Driver Survey by Parkopedia, 94% of US drivers have trouble finding parking.
Parkopedia’s chief operating officer, Hans Puvogel, observed that US Hyundai drivers have demonstrated a strong interest in using their vehicles to obtain parking data and services.
“We are honored to be the first in-car commerce service to launch on the secure Hyundai Pay platform, a significant vote of confidence in the high caliber of our offerings from one of the industry’s top manufacturers. Future launches of new car models and services are something we eagerly anticipate.
Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car services app offers access to Hyundai Pay, making it possible for drivers to stay connected both at home and while traveling. It alleviates the anxiety associated with parking searches by allowing drivers to browse, reserve, and retrieve previous parking sessions.
Hyundai Pay is the most recent illustration of our ongoing improvements in software-defined cars and smart mobility, according to Olabisi Boyle, vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America. With Hyundai Pay’s scalable e-commerce platform, we can increase consumer convenience and broaden their digital reach by using our connected car, integrated cockpit, and secure transaction technology to make daily tasks like finding and paying for parking easier, faster, and safer.
Finally the MyHyundai mobile app, an active Bluelink subscription agreement, and some Hyundai cars are currently compatible with it.
