According to the estimates for 2021, Rolex manufactured around 25% more watches than it did in 2015 during that year.
In order to keep up with the burgeoning demand, Rolex announced an increase in manufacturing.
Why does this matter?
We commoners may be battling to keep our heads above water, but we may still feel sorry for the impoverished fund managers who are unable to purchase expensive Rolex watches. However, the company’s annual production of over a million watches can’t keep up with demand, and as a result, the waitlists at authorised vendors are becoming longer and longer. Yet, the largest manufacturer of luxury timepieces in the world has plans to make everything work out for everyone: In addition to its current plans, Rolex is building three temporary manufacturing sites in Switzerland where it hopes to begin producing watches in 2025.
