For followers of American basketball, Sorare has introduced Fantasy Basketball and partnered with the NBA and NBPA.
Therefore, it has now entered the world of basketball with its digital trading cards after first entering the worlds of football and baseball.
The most popular cards and some of the most recent news from the well-known gaming platform are included here.
Sorare ETH Prizes and a collaboration with Mbappé
Recently, Sorare announced that managers would be able to compete for ETH awards in Pro competitions in addition to Sorare Scarcity Card rewards starting with Game Week 3 (available for registration starting on Monday, April 3rd).
The manager’s ranking will now determine the ETH awards for all Pro contests, including Limited Pro, Rare Pro, and Super Rare Pro.
The Sorare team is also starting a Unique Pro competition, which will feature all seven unique cards and offer ETH prizes for the winners.
The good news doesn’t end there, as Kylian Mbappé, a French star, has joined Sorare’s NFT fantasy football league.
Mbappé, who earns $100 million year, opted to engage in the Web3 industry in June 2022 while riding the passion wave that followed Messi and Griezmann.
As his first investment in the Web3 sector, Mbappé specifically purchased a stake in the French startup Sorare, and the buyer “Team Bamby” paid 416,000 euros for his NFT card.
Sorare also works with the players’ group “Inspired By KM” (IBKM), which creates educational initiatives and encourages kids to explore the potential of Web3 technology.
Sorare and the NBA collaboration
As mentioned above, Sorare recently launched digital collector cards of basketball stars and introduced the NBA to the NFT realm.
Sorare introduced the first fully licensed, free-to-play digital collectible card basketball fantasy game this fall, which also happened to coincide with the start of the new NBA season.
The Sorare NBA game offers a fresh platform for basketball lovers to engage with the sport and engage in friendly competition with other fans.
Users will be able to acquire trade cards based on the NFT that represent their favorite NBA players and teams while also earning points based on that players’ actual performance.
Naturally, Sorare is permitted to utilize the league and NBA teams’ official logos in its products as a result of the agreement.
Adam Silver, the NBA’s commissioner, actually said the following about it:
“Our partnership with Sorare will offer NBA fans an entirely new way to interact with our teams and players. With Sorare’s emerging fantasy sports platform, we see significant opportunities to grow our fan community and grow NBA basketball around the world.”
Last but not least, the new gaming experience can count on two million Sorare registered users throughout 185 nations, including the European and Asian markets where the business is expanding quickly.
The alliance with the NBA also solidifies Sorare’s rapid growth in the country and makes it the company’s third cooperation with a U.S. sports league.
Most popular cards in Sorare
As is well known, Sorare has experienced a phenomenal rise in activity over the past few years, both in terms of transaction volume and the number of distinctive active wallets.
In fact, the well-known fantasy soccer dApp generated transaction volumes of over $11 million and had a 268% rise in unique active wallets, which are both astounding and encouraging numbers.
In any event, because each Sorare card has unique characteristics, their values might vary greatly. Particularly, the rarity, the player’s notoriety, age, injuries suffered, potential shown, and utility in team play are the most significant qualities in terms of worth.
Without a doubt, player popularity is a major factor in the cost of Sorare cards. For instance, the value of their cards reflects the popularity of players like Robert Lewandowski, Mbappé, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who are actual football icons with a following base that extends beyond the sports theme.
Not surprisingly, as anticipated, Kylian Mbappé’s unique card on Sorare from November 30, 2020 until the present day sold for the highest price ever (116 ETH). A super rare card of the same player recently sold for 58.5 ETH, and Mbappé’s rare card recently sold for 22 ETH.
There are basically two major trends with Sorare cards that you should always be aware of.
