The ‘ECF Accelerator Programme’ by 1337 Ventures and Leet Capital empowers Malaysian entrepreneurs to raise capital through alternative finance.
The ‘ECF Accelerator Programme’ is being hosted by 1337 Ventures and Leet Capital to support the fundraising environment as alternative finance becomes more popular in Malaysia as local entrepreneurs seek to raise capital. Up to 20 growth-stage Malaysian entrepreneurs will receive instruction from the program’s three-day fundraising boot camp on how to raise money through venture capital, private equity, and equity crowdfunding (ECF).
The boot camp will cover topics including stakeholder mapping, go-to-market strategy, financial modeling, marketing, pitching, and other essentials for starting a successful ECF campaign and fundraising exercises, according to 1337 Ventures and Leet Capital.
“many people are missing out on a game-changer”
The top three firms get an exclusive chance to showcase their potential at the Leet Angel Club, a prestigious and invitation-only gathering of discerning angels and intelligent investors, organized by Leet Capital, culminating the boot camp.
When SMEs look for funding, 1337 Ventures founder Bikesh Lakhmichand notes some themes he has observed: “In the road of fundraising, many SME entrepreneurs encounter a wall when it comes to establishing sound financial models, crafting a bulletproof fundraising plan, or delivering a killer pitch. That should worry you.
“Our local Malaysian enterprises have plenty of room for growth; they merely need the proper guidance to comprehend the fundraising environment. And undoubtedly, many people are missing out on a game-changer in their efforts to raise capital: learning to pitch investors effectively.
The ECF Accelerator program had two prosperous cohorts in 2022. The inaugural cohort’s winner, QMED Asia, secured more than RM5 million in ECF from 110 investors on Leet Capital.
Shell has invested in Arus Oil, from cohort 2, as part of a project to enable Malaysians to recycle their wasted cooking oil and keep supplying greener and sustainable energy options.
Finally Cohort 3 will start on August 4th, 2023, at that time. The 28th of July is the deadline for interested Malaysian SMEs and pre-IPO enterprises to register.
